Crossfade

It was a night like any other

I woke up to raised voices

I was scared of the booming noises.

On that night like any other.

It was a night like any other

I crept out of bed with my teddy by my side

I crawled under the table, there I would hide

On that night like any other.

It was a night like any other

My eyes witnessed the violence

My heart broke in silence.

On that night like any other.

It was a night like any other.

You didn’t call

You didn’t write

On that night like any other.

It was a night like any other.

She came home seeming mortified

She stuttered but said it and then we cried.

On that night like any other.

It is a night like any other.

All I can do is reminisce

All I have is what you missed.

On this night like any other.
